The goal of the Citizens Police Academy is to provide residents with a better understanding about what a police officer does on a daily basis as well as to provide information about the Edmond Police Department. The Edmond Police Department has conducted over a dozen Citizens Police Academies since its inception in February 1997.

The Alumni Association generally meets at Johnnie's on 33rd, the first Tuesday of the month at 7PM. The majority of the time, the speaker is a member of the Edmond Police Department, who talks about their area in the Department.
